The Step One Survey™ is a test that assesses the integrity, work ethic and reliability of applicants. It looks at competencies such as dependability and responsibility, and is used by HR professionals, coaches and recruiters in a range of sectors.

The Step One Survey™ has been tested thoroughly for reliability and measures behavioural traits consistently. It is validated regularly to check that it measures the right skills and meets industry standards.

Usage advice

The Step One Survey™ helps organisations assess the reliability and integrity of candidates objectively. We recommend using the results as a supporting tool when making hiring decisions, with a focus on selecting the right candidate.

Features

Reporting

The results provide reports for managers and HR professionals, including selection reports and job match reports. These reports show how well a candidate fits the organisation’s values and standards.

  • Truthfulness: An algorithm measures the consistency and honesty of responses.
  • No webcam required: You do not need a webcam.
  • Test conditions: We recommend taking the test in a quiet environment when the participant is alert and rested.

Professional Assessment Center (PAC)

Access to the Professional Assessment Center (PAC) is required to administer the Step One Survey™. Within this platform, HR professionals can invite candidates and securely manage results. Up to three staff members can access the PAC with their own accounts.

Use of the PAC test centre involves an annual fee. Request a quote for current pricing. We set up the test centre with you and provide training so you are comfortable with the system.
